People go to see a thriller/horror film because they expect to be scared, they expect to be confused and worried as to know what will happen next. We used voice overs to emphasise the twist within the protagonists mind. It allows the audience to think and interpret there own predictions unto what the voices represent or who they are -this is why it attracts the teenage age group, as knowone wants a straight forward film. The mise en scene of a Chapell with stained glass windows and an altar provides Religious conotations which is intrieguing to many people. Religion is a questionable topic people need answers for as is our piece, leaving questions pondering in an audiences mind is adressing them into interpreting there own ideas which teenagers enjoy. We attracted the audience by turning quite an inocent situation into something rather intense and ominous for example the Text messages and Phonecalls recieved when on Holy ground. With a girl of seventeen playing the lead role, this warmed to the teenage audience, attracting them as they can relate to her and think about how they would react in a situation such as this one maybe. To attract the audience we made our film visually interesting by including variouse shots, such as extreme close ups (connoting fear on the characters face or an important point e.g the text message in the chappell)
Other shots included to allow the production to be more apealing would be tracking shots, low angle shots, establishing longshots, over the shoulder shots and many more...
The character is percieved as relativly 'normal' this then engages the audience once the unexpected twist of the voices Leah hears. Its a gripping storyline hoping to grasp the attentions of the audience through a series of juxtaposition but also similarities emphasising its genre.
